Take Time to Soak it In- A Peek-a-Boo Project

We are the month of Thanksgiving we are reminded and encouraged to be grateful for all our many blessings. To wake up each morning and to be given the opportunity to do what we love, if but for a moment, should not go unnoticed. I am so thankful for my art and it has brought me through many a dark night. I also love how a good movie can give us escape from the burdens of our everyday lives. This is the inspiration for my current blog post, "Take Time to Soak It In."

Supplies:  Soul Laser Cuts-Alarm Clock Frame Ups [D72C], Emerald Creek Allure Oil Rubbed Bronze, Hammered Metal, Charred Gold Embossing Powders, WOW Embossing Pad, Heating Tool, Rub’n Buff, Paintbrush, Printed Images, Printed Transparencies, Double Sided Tape, Weldbond, Clamps, DecoArt One Step Crackle Gel, DecoArt Antiquing Cream

1.  Cut apart GSLC Alarm Clock Frame Ups

2.  Use WOW Embossing Pad to add Emerald Creek Allure Oil Rubbed Bronze, Hammered Metal, Charred Gold Embossing Powders to the GSLC Alarm Clocks.

3.  Cure with Heating Tool.

4.  Add patina with various Rub’n Buff and a paintbrush.

5.  Choose and print images and transparencies for your GSCL Alarm Clocks.

6.  Adhere Transparency to image with double sided tape.

7.  Cut out pictures and glue to inside of GSLC Alarm Clocks.

8.  Glue Front portion of GSLC Alarm Clock into place.

9.  Use clamps to hold securely in place.

10.                Once dry fill in frame with DecoArt One Step Crackle gel.

11.                When fully dry use DecoArt Antiquing cream and a paintbrush to fill in the cracks.

12.                Take off excess Antiquing Cream with a damp cloth.

13.                Spray with hairspray or a matte spray to seal your art pieces.

14.                Your GSLC Alarm Clocks are now ready to use as you wish.

Alice Revisited-A Peek-a-Boo Project-A Peek-a-Boo Project

Supplies:  Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Altoids Insert Frames Alice Theme, Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts-Wrought Iron Archway, White Gesso Acrylic Paint, Paintbrush, Assortment of Colored Pencils and Brush Watercolor Markers, Gray, Green Gold, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Iron Oxide Acrylic Paint, Matte Medium, Versa Mark, Red Embossing Powder, Weldbond, Seth Apter Baked Textures Dirty Sand Ancient Amber, Heating Tool, Tim Holtz Distress Stains-Pumice Stone, Fossilized Amber, Brushed Corduroy, Barn Door, Abandoned Coral Reef,  Two Square Glass Tiles, Tiny Card Embellishments, Red Linen Thread, Glue, UHU Gluestick, Scissors, Jump Rings, Needle Nose Pliers, Red Enameled Copper Chain,

1.  Take apart GSLC Altoids Alice Inserts, and GSLC Wrought Iron Archway.

2.  Quickly Paint GSLC Altoids Alice Inserts with White Gesso.

3.  Once Dry Color with Assortment of Colored Pencils and Brush Watercolor Markers.

4.  Antique GSLC Alice pieces with a Dry Brush Technique and, Gray, Green Gold, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Iron Oxide Acrylic Paint and Matte Medium.

 

5.   Use Versa Mark and Red Embossing Powder to Color “Hearts” Leftover Pieces from GSLC Wrought Iron Archway. Cure with a Heating Tool.

6.  Use Tim Holtz Distress Stains- Barn Door and Abandoned Coral Reef-to add Additional Details to UpCycled Hearts.

7.  Use Weldbond to Adhere Seth Apter Baked Textures of Dirty Sand and Ancient Amber on GSLC Wrought Iron Archway. Cure with a Heating Tool.

8.  Use Tim Holtz Distress Stains-Pumice Stone and Fossilized Amber to add Additional Details to GSLC Wrought Iron Archway.

9.  Assemble Artwork Piece Stacking GSLC Altoids Alice Frames, GSLC Wrought Iron Archway, and Tiny Heart Card Embellishments. May Need Glue to Adhere Some of the Pieces Inside the Square Glass Tiles.

10.                Hold Everything into Place with Clamps.
11.                Use Red Linen Tread to Make a Frame Around the Inside of Your Square Glass Tiles.

12.                Place Glue on Knotted Linen Thread and Allow to Dry Overnight.

13.                Cut off Loose Linen Thread.

14.                Add Additional Tiny Heart Card Embellishments Using a UHU Gluestick.

15.                Use Needle Nose Pliers to Attach Two Jump Rings to the Top Intersecting Linen Threads.

16.                Use Needle Nose Pliers to Attach a Length of Red Enameled Copper Chain.
17. Hang Your Creation Some Place So it Can Be Admired from Both Sides.
